Barbet

The Barbet is an ancient French water spaniel whose lineage can be traced back to at least the 16th century, developed to hunt waterfowl in the marshes and wetlands of France. Recognized by the AKC in 2020, the breed is instantly recognizable by its thick, curly or wavy waterproof coat that covers the entire body, including a distinctive beard.
