The Berger Picard is one of France's oldest herding breeds, believed to have been brought to the Picardy region by Celtic tribes around 400 BCE. Known for their tousled, weather-resistant coat and expressive, alert ears, these dogs are intelligent and energetic working dogs with a spirited yet affectionate nature toward their families. Though independent and sometimes stubborn, they respond well to consistent training and thrive with active owners who can meet their considerable exercise needs.
