Portuguese Water Dog

A sturdy, medium-sized working breed from the Algarve coast of Portugal, the Portuguese Water Dog was bred to assist fishermen by herding fish into nets, retrieving lost tackle, and carrying messages between boats. They are intelligent, biddable, and spirited, with a distinctive curly or wavy hypoallergenic coat and an energetic, fun-loving nature.
