Pumi

The Pumi is a medium-sized Hungarian herding terrier developed over several centuries by crossing the ancient Puli with various German and French terrier-type dogs, resulting in a versatile and tireless working herder used to drive and control livestock on the Hungarian plains. Highly energetic, alert, and vocal, the Pumi is distinguished by its unique semi-erect ears, corkscrew-curled coat, and whimsical, animated expression that reflects its keen, ever-busy mind. Though strongly bonded to its family, the Pumi tends to be reserved with strangers and requires consistent mental and physical stimulation to thrive as a companion.
