Silky Terrier

Developed in Australia during the late 19th century from crosses between the native Australian Terrier and imported Yorkshire Terriers, the Silky Terrier was bred to be a small but tough companion with a distinctly terrier character. The breed is distinguished by its fine, glossy, silky coat that falls parted along the back, giving it a refined appearance that belies its spirited, game nature. Despite its elegant looks, the Silky Terrier retains keen hunting instincts and a bold, confident personality characteristic of the terrier group.
