The Tibetan Terrier, despite its name, is not a true terrier but was bred by Buddhist monks in the Lost Valley of Tibet as a companion and good-luck symbol for over 2,000 years. Known for their large, flat, snowshoe-like feet that provide traction on snowy Himalayan terrain, these dogs are agile, hardy, and surprisingly athletic. They are affectionate and devoted to their families while remaining somewhat reserved with strangers, reflecting their ancient role as cherished companions of the monasteries.
